Dress Standard All junior players must have:
Equipment The club kit contains bats, helmets, pads, balls, gloves etc for the team, but the players can bring their own gear (eg protector) if they wish. Helmets are compulsory while batting during all games and training sessions (except for the under 8s where soft balls are used and it is almost impossible for a bowler to bowl fast enough to injure a batter). The club provides each team with some helmets that they can share, but it is suggested that each player provides their own. The team coach or manager can provide advice on the appropriate helmet. The club can also point you to supplier with which a discount has been negotiated.
Grading- Trial sessions are organised before the start of the season to ensure that players are placed in the appropriate team. Players are encouraged to attend as many of these sessions as possible. These sessions are a good opportunity to meet other players / parents / coaches. Under 8s don't have grading trials but can come along to register and pay fees if you missed the registration day. Once teams are finalised, the team coach or manager will contact players to confirm training times and the season draw.
Training- Is normally held on one evening per week at the nets at Waratah Oval, Sutherland. Times and days for training are worked out between the players, parents and coaches closer to the start of the season.
Home Ground- Each team's home ground is not allocated until near the start of the season. Home grounds for St Patricks teams are normally located in or around Sutherland. Each ground has toilets. Also, St Patricks sells soft drinks for $1.00 each at the ground, but typically there are no other facilities at the grounds.
