Is it a no-ball if it bounces more than twice?
(Applying Law 24.6)
This law (24.6) is a new law. It is quite simple. If the ball upon delivery bounces twice, then bounces again before reaching the striker it is a “no ball” and must be called and signalled as such. If the ball upon being delivered strikes the ground and proceeds to roll along the pitch then it too must be called, “no ball”. In both events it is easy to see that such a delivery is not consistent with the intent of the game and is unfair to the striker. Hence the need to call it a ‘no ball’.
