R2 16D Congratulations to the boys on another great win, it was a good team performance!
Tom batted well again hitting 48 runs and Josh cashed in and scored 53 not out batting very well with the help of Fabio, Jack Scott and Stuart to push the total to over 200 runs.
The teams bowling was outstanding with Jack S and Kieran opening the bowling under difficult wet conditions but they soon settled into their rhythm and scored early wickets. Josh then took 3 wickets bowling a terrific line and length. Caringbah hit back with a solid late order partnership and then Daniel broke that partnership which moved us into a winning position with marvelous flight and spin which troubled the batsmen.
Peter showed good improvement with his action and follow through, his approach to the crease was good and he used his pace well. Well done Pete and keep the progress going. Fabio also bowled well with another wicket and Cormac supported with some nice pace bowling in the middle overs. Jack K fielded well with both Tiaan and James standing up behind the stumps as wicket keepers. Performing well with great footwork and technique (eyes over the ball all the way to the gloves).
Tiaan and Tom led the team well as captain/vice captain for this game by good field placements and encouraging the team in the field. Its good to see from the coaches point of view the drills we are doing at training are being incorporated into the game.
Daniel wins the encouragement award for breaking a crucial partnership, well done and keep it up.
Matt.
