On a dry Waratah afternoon we lost the toss and Engadine did the smart thing and batted.
Ryan Marshall AKA Agro delt Engadine a huge blow cleaning up 2 quick wickets with tight swing bowling. Lupto AKA Rattler missed the edge consistantly and when he got the edge we weren't there to catch it. I think Rattler has to slow down a bit so the batsmen can hit the ball. Next came our other debutant Graeme with another 2 quick wickets. The caught and bowled was the best I had seen all year. (the first one actually). But it was brilliant!! Great fielding by David Misfud AKA OMO (will explain next week at the game) nearlly picked up 2 runouts but cleaned up a great diving catch for John Hart AKA Prince. Pervin's AKA Flash stopped a brilliant on the way boundry ball and picked up and threw the ball to Murray AKA Dry As, and an excellant run out was achieved. While on Dry As, Gilly took one of the best stumpings I have seen for a long long time to take out their great bat hope Ben Marcianti (Sutho 2nd Grader).
Rattler None for 29 off 8, Agro 2 for 20 offf 5, Prince 1 for 41 off 11, Graeme 2 for 5 off 3 and the old bloke 4 for 5 off 6
Engadine being 4 for 75 ended up being all out for 109. Great effort considering we had 10 men in the field!!! OMO and Prince came out and held the innings together for a 25 opening partnership. Prince ended up with 24. The indian connection of Targ and Flash put on another 30 runs. Both batted well with Flash ending up on 13 and Targ (our international import) undefeated on 33. Steve Pecek, Skip, AKA Captain Black beard hit a Swashbuckling innings of 30 quick runs with a 6 that ended up on the bike track. Dry As with 7 flowing runs not out. We ended up 5 for 125 Dec. Thanks for scoring Mick Panich and Aaron Hannah. And thanks for filling in Pervin. Thanks also for the spectators Rhonda, Karen, Kylie, Harry, Waz, and Chum
Great First up win guys and now we will have the undisputed Martin shield winners from last year team to contend with at Wooloware High school on the next 2 Saturdays. 1.30pm Start.
