Round 1 complete and a great start to the season for the boys with a convincing win over Como Jannali

(St Pats 8/234 defeated Como Jannali 10/155).

We appear to have a pretty strong batting line up this year. The standout this week was Elliott Brookes with 103, including 14 boundaries. Top innings Elliott! He was well supported by Liam Stokes who scored 13 (a 101 run partnership) and Ben Donnelly who scored 33 including 4 boundaries (74 run partnership). After 40 overs it had been a long day for Como Jannali with the score at 3/194 before they secured the wickets of Ben and Elliot within 2 overs. With a few players away the team did well to amass such a high score and this included a quick fire partnership of 28 off the last 4 overs from Nicholas Shaw who scored 17, including 4 boundaries and Cameron Criteron who scored 8, including 2 boundaries.

Best Bowling for the week was Liam Stokes who collected 3/22 off 8 overs including 2 wickets in the one over. Zac Hart collected 1/10 off 3 overs, Elliott collected 1/15 off 8 overs and Harry Dickens finished with 1/19 off 4 overs.

In the field the team ran hard at the ball and were accurate with their throws, reflected with the 4 runs out courtesy of Harry, Daniel, Joshua and Ben. Unfortunately we let a few catches get away from us, but in this match we were fortunate that they didn't cost us too much. Someone who did take the catches that came their way was Ben Donnelly. He took one in the field and one as keeper.

This was a great way to start the season. Well done team!
